When I was a sophomore, I lived in Il-San. It took about three hours from my house to my school. Therefore I couldn't help entering a dormitory. For the first time, I met her in that place. She was my roommate. Her name was Jung Soon Young. She was a freshman(of course, her major was English literature), but she and I were the same age. She was very cheerful and kind, as she is now. That's why, although we had a relationship of junior and senior, we became closer than sisters. We always ate our meals, studied, slept and took a bath together during one year. We came to know each other very well. When I had some troubles, I told her my troubles to her. Whenever I told my problems, she was interested in my them and she tried to help me solve my problems.
　　　 At that time, I was mixed up in my life. From when I was a freshman until then I couldn't decide my life's object. I didn't study and I wandered. Therefore my grades were very low. In addition, my parents got a divorce. That's why I couldn't get a grip on myself. Day by day, I drank heavily and went out with bad friends. Also, more and more, I didn't like to go to my home. No one took care of me. I needed mental comfort. However, no one was there for me. Therefore I met a lot of boy friends, and I wandered till late at night with them. That's why my father and I were on bad terms. Soon Young worried about me. She advised me, but I ignored her advice. One day, I was so sick that I couldn't go to the hospital. Therefore, I groaned for two days. My fever was very high. Also I couldn't eat any meals. The next day, although she had a lot of classes, she went to the hospital together with me. She took care of me extremely well until I got well. After a few days, my fever came down and I could eat. She was glad that I got well. And then she embraced me. At just that time, I could feel great love from her. I asked her, "How can you worry so much about another person's problems like this? How can you be so good to another person like this?"
　　　 She answered, "If I do a good deed, in the long run, it will come back to me again." And then she went on saying "Now, even if you have a lot of troubles, you must not do what you want. Although that is very hard for you, you must overcome them, and help your family."
　　　 Her advice was a great a awakening to me. I thought, "How stupid I was !" I was only pessimistic about my life and I only avoided my life.
　　　 In this way, she changed me into another person. She gave hope to me. She brightened my life like the sun. She relieved me from my wandering. If she wasn't there, I couldn't think of it. I learned to smile from her. Therefore, nowadays, I always try to smile. Also, I am optimistic about everything. I can feel that I'm more beautiful mentally, like when I was
young. I was born again, by means of her. I was purified because of her. I came to love myself and my family by means of her. She is my sun and light. I will practice my love to other people as she did to me. As she said to me, if I always have a beautiful mind, real love will come to me and I will be happy. I do believe that! At last, I thank her for giving me awareness of myself.
