Nowadays, people use computers to get information from around the world. Especially, the Internet is very useful to get information. As a result of that, people have made a new word, "netizen," which refers to people who use the Internet. Although the Internet is useful to people, it is also very harmful to people sometimes; for example, there is Internet addiction. Therefore I want talk to you about the bad aspects the Internet now.
        First, many people have personal computers in their homes. In my case, when I stay at home, I turn on my computer right away without thinking. I heard many people do this. While using the computer, people don't know how fast time goes. Sometimes, they spend the whole day using their computer. They don't do anything else, but just use the computer. They don't spend any time with other people. In the process, relationships of people turn cold, and their minds become narrow. They gradually become more and more isolated. This is a serious problem.
        Second, because the Internet is gradually becoming popular to people, PC rooms have been created. So many people are there at midnight, even students who are wearing school uniforms. They don't go home until midnight. Also sometimes they spend the whole day at the PC rooms to use the Internet. So they don't sleep and they don't study well at school. It is also bad for the health of students. In addition, too many people smoke cigarettes in PC rooms, even though they are middle school students or high school students. This is also part of the bad side.
        Third, if people use the Internet to get useful information, that is good. But lots of people visit pornographic sites nowadays. They spend much time surfing these sites. Even though a lot of students visit these sites, there is no restriction for them to visit these sites. Also chat rooms are gradually becoming one of the biggest problems. Chat rooms often cause social problems nowadays. Yesterday, the TV news reported that two men met high school girls through chatting. They raped the two girls and sold them to a house of prostitution for ten thousand won.
        The Internet can be a useful thing to people, but people sometimes use it wrong. So it might be very harmful to people. Most importantly, people should use the Internet for good purposes, and people should regulate how much time they spend using it.
