People say the twenty-first century will be an era of information. In old times, we watched TV and read newspapers to get information, but nowadays we use computers. Computers are useful things, but the side effects of computers are becoming social problems. Most personal computers are connected with others through networks. So we can get so much information from them. But there is not only good information. The problem is bad information. Teenagers get bad information without any restrictions. It is an important problem because we do not have laws of restriction for their use of computers. I intend to talk about the right way to use computers and solutions of the side effects.
        There are many PC rooms in Korea. Many people go there because of the fast connection speed to the Internet and cheap prices. But they use computers more to play games and chat than to get information. Some game players play games all day. I think it is not bad that teenagers play games to remove their stress or as a hobby in a PC room. Nowadays there is a new job called a professional game player. The professional game players live on prizes from winning games. They compete against players all around the world. Of course, it is not general to be a professional game player. But most teenagers are satisfied with only playing games. Still, sometimes they forget their own duty of studying hard. They can acquire nothing except removing their stress. If they create new games, they could earn much money, but they don’t consider that. The government must prepare a basic environment. For example, the government must establish special schools for games or supply budgets for people who are concerned about games to go abroad to get advanced techniques.
        I can see a second problem in chatting. It has big charm because we can talk with people who are unknown. But nowadays chatting on a network has a bad side. Some teenagers use chatting sites for sex. They meet and part from each other to engage in sex very easily through chatting. In other words, chatting sites are used as tools to meet partners for sex. It is becoming a more serious problem because users are getting younger. Their morality is being destroyed. Chatting service corporations have to limit lecherous users through a close inspection. For example, chatting service corporations need to restrict users when they register in their sites and open lists of lecherous users on the sites.

        Now the government is campaigning for one computer for one person. I have heard that people who govern the networks will dominate the world in the twenty-first century. We will be able to buy goods without going to a market and to take classes without going to a school. We will do everything using computers in the future. If we don't know about computers, we will not be able to live anymore in the future. Like this, computers have many merits, but the more the technology develops, the more the side effects occur. We have to find the bad problems of using computers and solve them. So we must make a good environment for using computers correctly.
