I am twenty-four years old. Although twenty-four years is not a long time in comparison with older people's lives, I have had many experiences in those twenty-four year. They usually influenced my life in a positive way.
First of all, I can never forget that time when I was a reporter. I worked as a reporter at Daejin University Press for two years. I learned much from this experience. At first, I could learn how to write newspaper accounts. But I did not learn from senior reporters because there was no senior reporter at Daejin University Press, so I had to learn writing skills by myself. That was the most difficult thing at that time. But it influenced me for good. Also, I learned editing skills for two years. Usually, I edited the newspaper by using a power Macintosh. I had to learn editing skills by myself, too. Fortunately, a fellow reporter was good at many various computers. He taught me to edit the newspaper, so I could easily edit it. But I did not relax my efforts. I read many books about electronic editing, and then edited the newspaper over and over again.
My second unforgettable experience was my military service. I joined the army in December 1994, and was discharged from military service in February 1997. For twenty-six months, I learned much from this experience. Most of all, I realized that my freedom was very valuable after being discharged from the military service, because the army exercised strict control over my life. For the same reason, I developed a strong power of endurance. Also, I realized that my parents were very important. When I lived with my parents, I didn't realize their importance. I wanted to meet them because I could not freely meet them. Besides, I felt the importance of friends. When a few school friends visited my military unit for meeting me, the tears streamed ceaselessly down my cheeks.
My final unforgettable experience was to meet Nana. Nana is a nickname, and she is my girlfriend. I met her on June 27, 1997. I have learned the feeling of true love from her. She and I fell in love with each other. Every other week, we go to the movies and talk about the movies which we saw together. Because she has a very deep knowledge about movies, I could learn a great deal of information about them. Also, she is an inseparable buddy in my life. We study English and discuss politics and economic issues. I like her for these points.
Among many experiences in my twenty-four years, I will never forget these three experiences. They influenced me in a positive way. From these three experiences, I could attain full growth and learn much in my life. To grow further and to improve my mind, I hope to experience more events in my life.
